In Memoriam – Michael Gruber, M.D.


The Texas Urology Specialists family is deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Michael Gruber, who died at his home in Dallas on Saturday, March 3. A board-certified urologist, Dr. Gruber’s career included leading a successful private practice as well as serving in leadership roles at Medical City Dallas, including president of the medical staff. He served as chief medical officer at Medical City from 2015-2017 before joining Texas Urology Specialists in 2017.

Dr. Gruber earned his medical doctorate from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he also completed a residency. His education also include a rotating surgical internship at University of California, San Diego. Dr. Gruber graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He has been honored as a Super Doc in Texas Monthly Magazine from 2004-2014 and listed as a Best Doctor in D Magazine from 2001-2014. He was a member of the Dallas County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, and American Urologic Association.

Dr. Gruber will be remembered for his passion for healing, dedication to delivering excellent care to his patients, commitment to mentoring colleagues, and his warm, caring nature.

Services for Dr. Gruber were held on Tuesday, March 6 at 2 p.m. at Temple Shalom, 6930 Alpha Road in Dallas.
